Little Green Nurseries launch brings exciting new opportunities for pre-schoolers

Seasoned childcare experts join forces to launch inclusive, OFSTED-registered nursery to boost educational, social and emotional skills through independent play in Battersea

MAY 2022 – Little Green Nurseries, an OFSTED-registered nursery has opened its doors in Clapham Junction to offer a new approach to Early Years education and childcare in the area. Run by a team of established childcare professionals with decades of combined experience, Little Green Nurseries is a brand new, purpose-built setting to deliver structured play sessions that encourage children aged 2-5 years old to develop vital pre-school skills in a nurturing environment.

Disillusioned with other offerings in the area, nursery owner Amy McManus sought a better way to prepare children for nursery and school, with a strong focus on holistic development, parent partnership, wellbeing, and social maturity. The new setting’s intimate surroundings are bursting with an array of resources to stimulate, entertain and amuse even the most inquisitive mind while delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) statutory framework. What’s more, its team goes above and beyond with training to stay ahead of rapidly evolving childcare trends and safeguarding protocols.

“We believe that every child is a unique competent learner, and independent play – or play away from main care giver – promotes their essential social skills and emotional awareness,” said Amy McManus, founder/owner of Little Green Nurseries. “We have worked hard to create an intimate, secure and joyful ‘home from home’ environment, where each child can feel comfortable to express themselves in a way that is truly natural to them.”

Amy has almost two decades of experience as a pre-school education professional. She joins Little Green Nurseries from Noah’s Ark nursery, which she led for 5 years and was teaching for 2 years before. During her time, she was widely recognised for her natural, nurturing, and constructive approach to childcare. The Little Green Nurseries founding team also includes Erica Sale and Patrice Doyles, who have both worked in a variety of inclusive roles in the private and public settings, right through from 2 to 11 years old. As such, the setting benefits from a strong team that is extremely skilled in early years provision. High staff to child ratios at Little Green Nurseries also enable the team to maintain unparalleled levels of attention and care.

“We design each session to promote creativity, logical thinking, literacy, communication and physical challenges – and communication with parents is fundamental to this,” continues McManus. “Rather than a brief, formulaic, end-of-day transaction, we work in true partnership with all parents. Together, we focus on nurturing and developing the interests of their children – closely monitoring progress and adapting sessions where necessary to ensure that every child’s potential is realised. This is unfortunately a rare quality among other childcare professionals and settings today, so we are thrilled with this new venture and the opportunities it will offer to children and parents alike.”

Little Green Nurseries is situated on Grant Road, with easy access to Northcote Road and convenient transport links from Clapham Junction station. It offers sessional care for children between 8am – 4.15pm Monday to Friday, with well-equipped and secure outside play areas. The nursery offers parents a simplified pay structure that includes affordable, flat fees for sessions and flexible terms, as well as 15/30 hour funding options.
